The Alberta Museums Association (AMA) is partnering with heritage organizations across the province to provide Albertans with unique first hand experiences of living heritage with their new Experience Living Heritage Program. They have created this program to raise community awareness and to share the importance of the knowledge behind the objects and acts that we know as culture, or specifically, Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH). Free programming in support of Intangible Cultural Heritage Awareness is being offered in conjunction with Alberta Culture Days at many partner organizations across Alberta. Partner organizations include AMA Recognized Museums, as well as other heritage and cultural organizations across the province. This is a long term awareness campaign that is working over a three year plan, and will be hosting ICH activities year round, in addition to the Alberta Culture Days activities. The following media kit contains the necessary logos for media use, a media release for the 2016 Culture Days events, world wide ICH press examples, as well as digital examples of ICH practices. Information on the AMA, ICH and UNESCO, as well as our spokespeople can be found below. More information on the ICH programs can be found online at www.museums.ab.ca. Alberta Culture Days takes place September 23 - 25, 2016. More information on Alberta Culture Days can be found at http://culture.alberta.ca/culturedays/
